The project required the existing mechanical infrastructure to be adapted around a completely new Cat B workplace layout.

Existing four-pipe fan coil systems needed to be reconfigured to suit the revised spaces, while ventilation requirements also changed across the floor. New workplace amenities, including kitchen and tea point areas, upgraded WC and shower facilities and a dedicated comms room, introduced further servicing requirements.

The challenge was to integrate these changes with the existing building systems while supporting the quality and functionality expected from the new headquarters environment.

S-Worx delivered a coordinated mechanical services package that combined the reuse and adaptation of existing infrastructure with new systems where required.

The existing four-pipe fan coil installation was reconfigured around the new office layout, while the main air handling system was modified to provide the required airflow to individual spaces.

New VRF air conditioning was installed to serve the communications room, alongside new plumbing infrastructure for kitchen and tea point facilities, complete with leak detection. The new and modified systems were brought together through a purpose-built building management system.

The six-month programme required close coordination between the mechanical installations, architectural finishes and evolving workplace layout.

Works included the full mechanical Cat B fit-out, refurbishment of WC and shower facilities, modifications to existing comfort systems and the installation of new services throughout the floor.

By retaining suitable existing infrastructure and adapting it around the new requirements, the project team was able to integrate the mechanical services efficiently while supporting the wider fit-out programme.

The completed fit-out provides Capital.com with a contemporary headquarters environment supported by mechanical services configured around the needs of the new workplace.

Upgraded comfort systems, improved workplace amenities and coordinated environmental controls support the day-to-day operation of the office, while the adapted building infrastructure makes effective use of the services already in place.
